The accidental expatriate blogger behind Echo Gallery Passage

Hello, I am Lena
A project manager. A parent. An expat residing in Düsseldorf, Germany.
Several years back, I moved here with my family. What began as a short-term assignment gradually became a new chapter living overseas.
Origins of the Move
Moving to Germany wasn’t in our long-range plan. Like many expatriate relocations, it started as a job opportunity and soon grew into something far more substantial.
The opening months were demanding — new processes, new routines, new expectations. Everyday chores seemed more complex than they ought to be.
The Adaptation Phase
There was culture shock, ambiguity, and much learning on the fly. Yet gradually routines settled in. We found spots that suited us, connected with other families, and began creating something that felt steady.
Why I Created Echo Gallery Passage
Most online guidance fell into either corporate relocation advice or shallow tourism content. What was missing was a genuine, everyday family viewpoint.
This site aims to bridge that gap with practical advice drawn from real life in Germany.
What This Site Represents (And What It Does Not)
This site REPRESENTS:
- Hands-on insights from living in Germany
- Emphasis on family life and daily realities
- Updated whenever something truly changes
This site ISN'T:
- An official tourism authority resource
- A paid-review platform
- A generic travel blog
Looking Ahead
Our stay in Germany goes on, and so does the learning journey. As long as the information remains helpful, I’ll continue noting what we find.
If you have questions about family life in Düsseldorf or anywhere in Germany, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
Best regards,
Lena
